Abstract

This study deals with death poetry during the Abassi succession during “332 H-450 H”, IB aims to view the doubts and causes of death at that time. The student took many verses from political works and some literary, historical and credible resources. The study deals with these texts using analysis, besides, limited subjects related to death during that period. We can say that this study takes into consideration exact affairs that poets spoke about, so, its presents every problem separately, supporting it with what suits it.

As a result poets of death share common subjects such as, death, time, act of god, Hell and Heaven. Although this contribution ended in similar meanings and literary images, and the similarity expanded to include techinical methods of death poetry, there were some poets who talked about death with much thinking and contemplation, until they reached some philosophical ideas which weren’t known before as Al-Ma’ari, Al-Mutanabi and so on.

On the other hand other poets had surface idea of death, as Abi-Atahiyah, Abu-Firas-Al-Hamadani, and Al-Sunawbari. In addition to some poets looked and talked about death rarely, because, they were busy not only in Jesting, but also in drinking Barm like Al-Khalidian, Ibn-Linkik and Al-Babga’a.

Finally, The most of death poetry was from Al-Ma’ari, Al-Mutanabi, Abu-Firas and Al-Sunawbari, as for their personal conditions, so, they talked about it emotionally.
